February 8 2012, Kuala Lumpur -- The 5th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) community screening continues in its firth year and kick started last Wednesday at HSBC Technologies and Services.
About 40 staff of the company turned up for the screening and a scrumptious lunch was served.
The screening was hosted by EcoKnight Aaina Karina, who introduced the film and the KLEFF mission of imparting environmental awareness and appreciation through films.
The audience was very touched and moved with the 2011 KLEFF Best International Film, "There Once Was and Island" from New Zealand.
It tells a story about the first devastating impacts of climate change and terrifying floods affected the unique and remote atoll of Takuu. Takuu is part of the Papua New Guinea, located in the South West Pacific Ocean. The film has an honest and emotional story about the 3 individuals from the same community and how they are dealing with the problems on a daily basis.
After experiencing the terrifying flood, dilemma as to wether or not to stay on the island has clouded over amongst the people of Takuu, both equally with uncertain outcome.
