Community screenings are at the heart of the Eco Film Fest outreach program. We know that when people watch the films that are participating in the Eco Film Festival, they learn about environmental issues, become motivated and inspired to take action, and begin taking personal approaches to start doing their bit for a better planet. This could be in the form of saving energy and choosing renewable power, or knowing more about responsible and sustainable purchasing and consumption.
We try out best to bring accessibility to more Malaysians by coming down to a screening area nearest to you so that you and your friends can be part of our outreach efforts.
EcoKnights is running free community film screenings for high schools, colleges/universities, corporate offices, organizations and even community/residential clubs.
These screenings of environmental films is part of EcoKnights' efforts in engaging more public to have access to watch award-winning green films that are participating in the Eco Film Festival film competition.
We invite you to consider hosting a screening to help us educate, motivate and inspire people in your community. Here are some ideas for screenings you might consider:
- At public libraries, schools, at colleges or university buildings, or in conjunction with a local theater or museum
- At the office, in your church, or for any other groups & organizations you belong to including environmental, social and networking groups, chambers of commerce, and more.
- For friends and family, for your neighbors or community, or for legislators
- At environmental conferences and gatherings
The roadshow is done free for your organization and a typical itinerary of our roadshow lasts for about 1 HOUR and 15 Minutes. If you work in a corporate office, we do recommend a "Lunch and Learn" where you can engage your colleagues/staff in a quick screening while lunching in your premise.
Please refer to a tentative itinerary below:
TENTATIVE ITINERARY FOR EFF 2011 ROADSHOW SCREENINGS
12:30 INTRODUCTION BY ECOKNIGHTS
12:35 SCREENING OF ONE GREEN FILM/LUNCH (NOT INCLUDED, NORMALLY ARRANGE BY HOSTS FOR AUDIENCE)
01:30 DISCUSSION/Q&A ABOUT THE FILM/FESTIVAL
01:45 END
If you or your organization is keen, please send us an email at and we would share the film list with you. The roadshow films are carefully selected to ensure that the general green topics affecting us today are reflected in the films.
What are the benefits of hosting a roadshow in your office/workplace/university/high school/community association?
- The films may help increase current understanding of environmental issues that are relevant to your workplace/university/community;
- These films have never been screened in Malaysia and thus the roadshow is the only way to have access to watch these award-winning films;
- The film may serve as catalysts to help you/your company/your community understanding environmental issues better and also possibly assist in dealing with issues you are currently facing;
- The films may encourage positive changes in your organisation/company and help advance your staff/colleagues internal efforts to help lower the impact of your organisation on the environment, and lastly
- The screening may help foster better relationship between management, staff and colleagues to synergistically work towards a greener workplace and lifestyle.
We hope that you can help us spread the word out on the roadshow and we hope you would find this roadshow as a great opportunity to bring GREEN back to your office.
