In April 2014, MENGO initiated an education and awareness campaign with more than 100 children from the island of Mantanani, off Kota Belud, Sabah. Supported by its members like Reef Check Malaysia, Blue Life Ecoservices and EcoKnights, the campaign was aimed at encouraging the children to collect waste from the island to make creative art pieces. The issue of waste is a serious problem on the island and despite various attempts by NGOs to address this, the community and government agencies themselves need to be collectively working together to address this. This video is a summary of what happened on the island during the campaign and we hope that you will be able to support this effort, no matter how small or big, by contacting MENGO at This email address is being protected from spambots.
